وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ
‘And we ransomed him with a great sacrifice'
- Qur'an 37:107
Dear community members, Assalam Alaykum.
With the grace of Allah, we will be commemorating the great sacrifice of Imam Hussain (a), his family (a), and his companions (a) once again this upcoming Muharram. By honoring the memory of Imam Hussain (a), we remember the great ideals of justice and truth that he sacrificed for and renew our commitment to the values of Islam. Inshallah we are able to obtain the maximum benefit throughout these months of Muharram and Safar. The series of majalis will begin on Thursday August 20, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Muharram majalis will have limited in-person capacity and rules with respect to those that can attend. All of the majalis will be broadcast live through Baitulilm's YouTube channel for those that cannot attend in-person. In order to allow all eligible community members to attend we will limit the number of times an individual can attend a majlis to 4 times (2 times in the first 7 majalis and 2 times in the last 6 majalis). Additionally, an individual will only be allowed to attend 1 of the 2 majalis on the day of Ashura. Registration will open first for the first 7 majalis from August 20 to August 26 on Saturday August 15 at 3pm. A separate email with links to register will be sent at that date/time. We will open up registration for the last 6 majalis, including Ashura, on Sunday August 23 at 3pm. Spots will be reserved on a first come basis and everyone that registers will be notified for what day(s) they are registered by August 18 Inshallah. You will receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have not received a confirmation email or an email letting you know that you are on a wait-list please check your spam or send an email to follow-up. Only registered attendees will be allowed entrance to the majlis.
